MobiKwik looks to hire mid and senior talent amid push for growth
Fintech company MobiKwik is looking to hire mid and senior-level talent across functions like engineering, finance, marketing, and collections, reports The Economic Times.
MobiKwik is looking to grow its team by about 80-100 over this year, spread across the engineering, marketing, finance, collections, and other teams.
The firm, which initially started as a payments firm, has since rolled out shopping-led credit products and investment and insurance products. It is looking to be a full-fledged digital bank for its 135 million users and 4 million merchants.
"Last year, we grew our business by 80%, and we've had two very profitable quarters. We're now looking for mature people to take responsibility for handling our growth, keeping risk in check, and scaling across teams. We're looking for someone senior to head the public policy team, and are hiring branding talent, and of course, a majority of the hiring will be for the technology and engineering side," Upasana Taku, cofounder of MobiKwik, told ET.
The company is looking for mid-to-senior level talent to drive its large-scale businesses and newer product lines that require more innovation. The hiring will be done over the next six-eight months.
"For our newer product lines like insurtech, we're looking for talent that has the capability to be agile and build things from scratch," Taku said.
The company is looking to clock in Rs 1,000 crore in revenue this year.
It is also looking to improve its gender diversity numbers as part of its DEI strategy, by interviewing and hiring more women and raising more women employees to leadership positions.MobiKwik was among the companies that shelved its IPO plans last year. The company will relook at its IPO plans once the markets stabilise, Taku said.
